Surface Water

It rains in Ireland two out of every three days, this winter being the wettest on record. Through the recent and ongoing inclement weather conditions, we have noted the many benefits of Surface Water Channel. It has directly contributed to the excellent condition of roads where it has been installed.

Surface water channel is another in-situ formation which provides a fast and effective means of removing surface water from highways. While occupying a larger footprint than the slot drain system, it provides much greater capacity and is offered in a number of different widths to suit diverse requirements. These include 1.0, 1.2, 1.5, 0.3 and 0.75 metre widths.

Through the width of the channel, a large level of capacity is offered. Our ability to construct such formations to the same levels of excellence as all in-situ concrete structures with the finish ensuring uninhibited water flow and elimination of sedimentation build up on the surface of the channel.

Benefits of Surface Water Channel
It is a fast and effective means of removing surface water from the road.
Through the width of the channel a large level of capacity is offered.
All profiles ensure uninhibited water flow and elimination of sedimentation build up on the surface.
The life of the channel can be 50 years plus.
The channel allows for a significant reduction in the number of gulleys/catchpits required on a longitudial stretch of highway.
The profiles we install can be driven on by vehicles and allow for exit/entry from driveways and access roads.
All concrete used is to NRA specifications with air entrainment, which is less susceptible to frost damage.
